Sigh

I put my toddler down for a nap this afternoon, and a few minutes later heard her sobbing.

Apparently, her doll was parentless- no mommy, no daddy. I promised her that when she woke up, her doll would be sitting with her parents.

Looking through the toy box...no daddy dolls. Uh-oh.

I quickly pulled out all my supplies, working hard to make sure her doll would have parents by the time Ernie woke up. And you know what? I did it! I was so proud of myself- Ernie came out just as I was arranging the happy family on the couch.

"Mom? What you do?"

"See sweetie? It's her family"

She thought...

"No. Her mommy a panda, her daddy fwog. That not Mommy Daddy. That FUNNY Mommy an Daddy."

The princess ballerina is now reunited with her happy family of Panda and Frog, and Funny Mommy and Daddy are still sitting on the couch...childless.

Sigh.

(She posed this family before she went to bed- not me!)

P.S.This is my Thing-A-Day #2...but I can NOT get pictures to post on our TAD blog!**

P.P.S These are crayon drawings (heat set) on fabric remnants from a LARGE hem job on my brother's pants. Yay for thrifty!**

P.P.P.S Looks like Daddy has been eating his spinach...

Your dolls are sooo cute. I know we slave over meals, toys, outfits only to be dismissed by our charges with a waive of the hand. The good news is, sooner or later you may become a grandparent and find out that the next generation will pay it back ;-)

As to the coils, I use a knitting needle. Also good for making jump rings. As to the pictures, what are your steps for uploading them?

I think the dolls are adorable. Maybe E will like them if you can make a new baby for the doll family.

Oh. My. Goodness. What a MOM to even THINK to CREATE parents, and to have it done so quickly. You and your toddler put a huge smile on my face - thank you. What a doll she must be.
