Team EtsyRain Challenge

Hey there, I'm back!  My mother-in-law always says that for a few years when the kids are young, mothers never get vacations, because it takes so much work to get OUT the door, STAY somewhere, and get BACK into life when you return.  Got that right!  The girls were champs on this trip, and we had a fabulous time with Wonder Daddy's family.

Nana has three of these eyeglass-chains now, and she LOVES them.  In fact, she wore out all three sets in the past year, so I took my beading supplies down to perform corrective surgery.

While I had everything out, I created this piece for an EtsyRain team challenge.  The theme was "Seattle Summer."  Team EtsyRain is for etsy sellers in the Pacific Northwest (which is a rather loose term), but I thought this piece reflected everything I love about our summers: lots and rain, and beautiful vibrant colors in between.  OK, I don't  love the rain...but I do love how these beads sparkle!

What do you think?  If you were to make something to remind you of local summer, what would you make?

That's VERY Summer, babe!

Our summers are so very GREEN...and pretty humid. If I was going to make something that reminded me of a CT summer, it would be a light, cotton top...probably in white and navy blue.

I am so uncrafty, I could not make a thing, but you have just opened up a whole new avenue of Etsy shopping for me... eyeglass chains! Very cool!

Love it- looks wonderful.
If I were to make something- it might be a fan- it's very hot and dry here during the summer-
=)

Maybe I could weave a decorative basket out of the straw-like dead grass that sizzles in our yard. ;)

Nice...good for sunglasses as well! I'm always losing mine, or sitting on them, lol.
